Vacation Planning Tips and Guidelines.
Things to do 3 Months Before Vacation is "page 2" in our Vacation preparation series.
Here you'll find vacation planning tips, links and travel checklists that detail all those little things that make your vacation even better.
These tasks are best done about 3 months before vacation begins.
Make it the Trip of a Lifetime!
To plan a great vacation, rich in cultural activities, informative tours and
interesting modes of transportation, start with our travel checklists, designed to flag important
items that need attention early in the planning stage and ensure a smooth transition from here to anywhere.
If you have your heart set on cooking classes in France or sailing tours in the Virgin Islands or any other fantastic local activity anywhere in the world,
secure reservations early.
The sooner you plan for special events and make important reservations the more likely you'll be crossing it off your bucket list this trip.
Do These Things 2 - 3 Months Prior to Vacation.
- Check out Kennels -
If you don't already have a preferred pet care provider start checking out kennels or other pet care facilities if required.
Have you heard of FREE pet sitting?. It's for real
and you can learn more about it here.
- Medical Appointments -
Book medical and dental checkups and optometrist appointments early enough to order prescription sunglasses and dive masks or have dental work completed.
- Vaccinations -
Call your community health unit and inquire about vaccinations recommended for your intended travel areas.
Do this each time you go even if you've previously visited that destination. Vaccinations and safety guidelines can be changed due to breakouts and
contamination in an area.
- Aesthetician Appointments -
Laser and Aesthetic procedures sometimes require more than one appointment. If you plan to have
it done before you go, secure your appointment early.
- Find Maps -
Print or buy destination and route maps if travelling by road. Plot road trips and alternative routes and learn about the places you'll travel through...and
any "must see" attractions along the way......
- Get Active -
Walk, swim, dance or whatever floats your boat. The better shape you're in the more you'll enjoy the
vacation. Exercise should be fun, there are thousands of ways to be active and lovin' it. .....
- Make Reservations -
If you haven't already done so you may want to make flight reservations, accommodation arrangements and
possibly reserve a table or seat at a special restaurant or event you'd like to attend.
Popular tours and restaurants can book up early so get your name in there if it's important to you.
- Travel Sized Products -
If you keep your eyes open you'll find a whole variety of travel sized products. Each store carries
different products so start shopping around for your favorites about 3 months before vacation.
Here are a few products that come in travel size.
Q-Tips, bandaids, shampoo, conditioner, gel, mousse, underarm deodorant, hairspray, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, makeup remover, antibacterial hand gel, sewing kits,
soap, wet wipes, lotion and all kinds of other stuff.
These products are must-have items in these days of "every ounce counts" flying. They take up way less room and greatly lighten the load.
An important function in these days of tightened luggage restrictions.
